New requirements in Food Safety Training
Do you manufacture foods for consumption in the United States? If so, welcome to the new FDA requirements for Food Safety! Under the Food Safety Modernization Act (wow, they’re FSMA, too!), facilities that manufacture, pack, hold or distribute food in the US are required to have a written Food Safety Plan, and that plan must be managed by at least one Preventive Controls Qualified Individual. We provide the following FDA recognized courses from the FSPCA and AFDO, led by FSPCA Lead Instructors:
Preventive Controls for Human Food – this is your PCQI course! We offer this program at our state of the art training facility in Cheektowaga, New York, live on-line and at your facility. It is highly recommended that there is more than one PCQI at each facility, since the FDA expects a PCQI be available whenever food is being handled. We offer flat rates for groups of 5 or more at a site of your choosing (yours or ours).
Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) – are you an importer in the US or an exporter into the US? This course helps you understand the FDA requirements for qualifying and approving foreign food manufacturers/suppliers.

HACCP Certification – We are accredited to provide HACCP training from the International HACCP Alliance for the certificated Introduction to HACCP as well as Advanced HACCP training. These courses provide the tools necessary to establish a working HACCP plan that will meet and exceed the FDA and USDA HACCP/Food Safety Plan requirements. All training is provided by an IHA Lead Instructor.
Environmental Monitoring – FSMA and BioTrax Laboratories have developed a hands-on program to help you develop and manage a cost effective environmental monitoring program that includes a Risk-Based approach to what to monitor and how often, explains the use of vector monitoring, teaches the proper techniques for sampling to maintain consistency in results, and then how to easily trend those results.
Internal Auditing – Internal audits are the best way to assess how well your programs are doing and also your level of compliance with FDA and GFSI standards and requirements. Understanding how to approach this and how to develop and manage an effective Internal Auditing Program is the core of this course.
